The
Wakarusa River Valley Heritage Museum is located in Bloomington
Park East at Clinton Lake just outside of Lawrence, Kansas.
We document the history of this region which has vital connections with Lawrence, Kansas. The area was a key region for the Underground Railroad and a hotbed of abolitionism, and had strong community and family histories for Free State Kansas . The Museum houses a variety of historical records and objects as well as genealogical records and welcomes research requests.
